Tamberlaine’s Kimono

TAM’S kimono features deep, more masculine shades of grey and black. A large castle (o-shiro) and full moon feature on his over-kimono, with trailing branches of blossoms in deep purple and burgundy. His under-kimono, also in deep purple, picks up on the blossoms. A black and grey geometric pattern is used for his obi. Here he is sitting quietly among the rocks and Japanese maples in this tranquil garden.

These photos were taken at Kariya Japanese Garden in Mississauga, Ontario, during cherry blossom season.
